35 Weeks and a Few

Dear Baby,

We went to the Dr. again this morning. Luckily, you have been moving lots since Wednesday, and I wasn't worried anymore about you. You are measuring right on for 36 weeks, though we are a few days shy, and everything looks good!

Henry and Johnny stayed with Grandpa and Grandma while I went, and they had lots of fun playing. It was strange to be at a Dr. appointment by myself, with just your kicks for company. I look forward to having you in my arms instead of in my belly, though.

Dear Baby, Well, we're still chugging along. I am FINALLY not feeling like I want to die all the time, and at our doctor's appointment, I was pleased to tell this to Doctor Harrison. Orange Popsicles

Dear Little Boy, One of the worst doctor visits is over!! I had my glucose test today, to check for gestational Diabetes. Ugh. It is AWFUL. In five minutes, I have to drink 8 onow need of a very sugary drink, then they check to see how my blood reacts an hour after that. It’s so hard to get all that nasty stuff down in 5 minutes, let me tell you. I wanted to throw up and quit several times. It is really like drinking a melted popsicle—very thick and full of sugar. But hopefully I pass this first test, and we don’t have to do it again. You are measuring right on for 25 weeks (which you will be on Sunday) and your heartbeat was lively, loud, and steady. I am so glad. We are eagerly looking forward to you joining our family. Our goal is to make it to Daddy’s birthday before you are born, but big brother Henry really wants you to be born on his birthday. He says a baby would be a “wonderful gift!” I think he is right. 20 week appointment

Dear Baby Boy, Still can’t believe I have another boy on the way. Confirmation at the ultrasound was, well, I was ready this time I guess! I am trying to decide what we’re going to name you! Daddy has no idea, and I have a few ideas I like, but he’s not sure on those. So you might not get a name for quite a while, kiddo. At our doctor appointment today, Dr. Harrison said you are looking great! Nice and big, all your organs look perfect, and you are healthy and strong. Always a relief! It’s hard to tell what I am looking at during the ultrasound, so Dr. Harrison helped me see everything. Good job, baby! One interesting bit, is there is an extra thick portion of the placenta that is not usually there. Dr. Harrison said it shows up when you are pregnant with twins, so it is likely Mommy was pregnant with twins for a while, and the other baby didn’t continue developing for some reason.
